Nagpur Customs Commissionerate, Nagpur celebrated the International Customs Day with the theme of ‘Nurturing the Next Generation: Promoting a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional pride in Customs’ on Friday.
Abhay Kumar, Commissioner of Customs welcomed R C Sankhla, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Central GST & Central Excise, Nagpur Zone was the chief guest of the event. Nilkant Shelke, ADG DGGI, Nagpur and Pradip Kumar Bohra, Commissioner Appeals, Nagpur and other senior officers were also present.
R C Sankhla highlighted that the Customs Department is the guardian of the country’s economic sovereignty. Abhay Kumar highlighted the achievements of Nagpur Customs during the last one year. The Customs officers which received the certificate of appreciation were Dipak Sontakke, Superintendent; Ashok Juyal, Superintendent; Vishal Bhopte, Inspector; Deepak Sharma, LDC; Manisha Sagar Kewate, LDC; Naresh Sangole, Head Hawaldar and Mohan Neware, Head Hawaldar. There was special mention of J S Rathore, Deputy Commandant, CISF, Nagpur.
Top Importer Awards were given to Komatsu India Pvt Ltd; R L Steels & Energy Ltd and Ultratech Cement Ltd.
The Top Exporter Awards were presented to Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd; Drytech Processes (India) Pvt Ltd and Bilt Graphic Paper Products Ltd. The Customs Brokers awards were given to R&Y Logistics Pvt Ltd and Himi Shipping Services Pvt Ltd and Best Custodian award was given to CONCOR ICD-MIHAN. Peeyoush Bhati, Additional Commissioner of Customs, Ngp proposed the vote of thanks.
