“People today have lost connect with their inner self. They need to practice silence to find this connect with oneself”, asserted Didi Krishna Kumari, Executive Head of Sadhu Vaswani Mission. Speaking to ‘The Hitavada’ during her visit to the city, Didi Krishna Kumari further stressed that silence had been necessary and everyone should practice it. It should be incorporated in school education, she said, adding that the education policy should be such that it laid emphasis on character-building and nation-building. Didi Krishna Kumari was in the Orange City to deliver a discourse on ‘The art of true living’. Asked about the true meaning of spirituality, she said, “An individual is introduced to spiritualism right from when he/she is in the mother’s womb.
Therefore, the expectant woman should practice silence, avoid anger and stress. This is why Garbha Sanskar plays an important role during pregnancy.” Commenting on the growing marital discords among young married couples and also on how well they embraced parenthood, Didi Krishna Kumari said, “Women are hardworking and selfless. They excel in any work they do. The discords can be handled by distributing responsibilities within a marriage, as a couple and also as parents.” She called upon parents to mould their own life according to the needs and requirements of their children as children were the richest treasures of any family.
About the rising influence of social media on people in today’s time, Didi Krishna Kumari opined that social media was just a tool and cannot be called good or bad,. But she urged people to refrain from excessive use of this medium so much so that they unknowingly become its slaves. “Parents hand over their mobiles phones and other gadgets to their children to keep them (children) engaged. But this practice is very dangerous and should be stopped immediately. Spending quality time with children is important for their mental well-being. Otherwise, their emotional intelligence and inner strength will be weakened and they would not be able to handle failures in life.,” cautioned Didi Krishna Kumari. Speaking on growing impatience, especially among youth, she said that people today have made life into a race when it is a actually a journey and people should enjoy it rather than run after making it materialistically wholesome.
