Around 800 probable young athletes of India for Olympic Games will showcase their talents in Archery, Kho-kho, Cycling and Fencing competitions in the fourth edition of Khelo India Youth Games in Jabalpur from January 30 to February 11. Preparations were given final touching on the eve of starting the nation’s biggest sports competitions for Young Athletes at Ranital Sports Complex.
Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman along with the team of administrative, sports, education and other departments rigorously monitored the completion of preparations till the eve of starting of the competitions. He inspected the venues of Archery, Kho-kho, Fencing competitions and route of Road Cycling event on National Highway.
Collector Suman, while interacting with mediapersons, expressed happiness over the timely completion of preparations and hoped that the organisation of Khelo India Youth Games in Jabalpur will prove a milestone for creating a healthy sporting environment in the city and encouragement of children towards sports activities.
Besides this, Divisional Commissioner B. Chandrashekhar continuously sought information about the preparations for a mega sporting event in Jabalpur while Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner, Ashish Vashisht, Jila Panchayat, Chief Executive Officer, Dr Saloni Sidana and other administration and JMC officers were on toes for making the event a memorable one for the district and State.
Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Bahuguna and his team also conducted inspection and monitored the law and order and security arrangements for avoiding any kind of inconvenience for the guest players and officials.
It may be noted that the KIYG Jabalpur will start with maiden event of Kho-kho match between hosts Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal teams at Ranital Sports Complex, on January 30, 10.30 am onwards.
