Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman while addressing a press conference said the final publication of voters’ list was done in the district, on Thursday. He said as following the direction of Chief Election Officer, Bhopal, special camps were organised in the district in the month of November and December under special brief revision of Electoral Roll-2023.

During the camp, BLOs made door-to-door visit and obtained forms related to addition, cancellation, amendment of names from voters. Special efforts were made to add names of specially-able voters and eligible persons belonging to special backward tribes.

He said on Thursday, January 5, 2023, the final publication of the photo electoral roll was done at all the designated places, polling stations in the district. Accordingly, the total number of voters in the district are now 18,03,048 including 9,23,511 male, 8,79,427 female and 110 others. Suman informed that after draft publication, there has been an increase of 38,883 voters including 16,445 male, 22,413 female and 25 third gender voters. Likewise, 7.45 percent increase in gender ratio, 1.39 percent increase in the EP ratio and 18,817 voters between the 18 to 19 year age group has been increased in the district. The Collector also gave detailed information about conversion of black and white photos into color photos, Aadhaar Collection, EPIC Distribution, Inclusion of names of eligible persons of Special Backward Tribe, V.I.P. Flagging of VVIP voters etc.
