NAGPUR women paddlers stormed into final of team event in the ongoing Maharashtra State Mini Olympics being held at Balewadi in Pune. In the semi-final, Nagpur beat Nashik to enter the summit clash. In the singles, Ikshika Umate stunned international paddler Tanisha Kotecha 11-6, 11-9, 13-11 and then Jennifer Varghese beat Sayali Wani 11-8, 9-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-3 to give Nagpur a comfortable lead. Ananya Sakalkale then got the better of Mitali Purkar 11-9, 11-6, 11-6 to shock one of the best teams of the tournament. Nagpur will play the final against the winners of Pune and Thane match.
