Report violations of model code on ‘C-Vigil’ app: Collector Ashish Singh

The general public can use the ‘C-Vigil’ (Citizen Vigilance) app to take effective action on violation of the Model Code of Conduct in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, voting for which would be held on November 17 and the results will be declared on December 3, said District Election Officer and Collector Ashish Singh. The Election Commission of India has implemented the Model Code of Conduct. Along with this, Collector Ashish Singh has called upon the general public and especially the political parties and candidates to strictly follow Section 144 while implementing it. He has appealed to make public aware to use the C-Vigil app to report violations of the code of conduct. Anyone can download this app in their mobile and upload a photo within 20 meters of the incident spot within 5 minutes and file a complaint. He said that any complaint related to the Model Code of Conduct on this app will be resolved in just 100 minutes. He further said that till now, strict action could not be taken on complaints of violation of the Model Code of Conduct due to lack of sufficient evidence. But now, through this app, it will be possible to take action within the stipulated time on complaints received through the Fast Track Complaint Receipt and Resolution System.
 
District Election Officer Ashish Singh said that the C-Vigil mobile app has been prepared by the Election Commission of India to register election related complaints and take immediate action on them. Through this app, any citizen can prepare a photo-video of any incident related to violation of Model Code of Conduct in elections and send his complaint. The complaint received will be promptly investigated and immediate action will be taken. This app became active as soon as the code of conduct came into force. How the C-Vigil app works? To use the C-Vigil app, any citizen must first go to the Play Store of his Android mobile or the App Store of his Apple mobile and download it. Any citizen can upload a photo taken within 20 meters of the incident site. Any citizen can upload a photo on the C-Vigil app within 5 minutes. The Election Commission will start taking immediate action on the information as soon as it is received.
 
The complaint made by the complainant through C-Vigil app will first go to the District Complaint Controller (DCC). After this, if the complaint is found correct after initial investigation by the District Grievance Controller, it will be sent to FST (Flying Squad Team). After the investigation team investigates the complaint and takes action, the status report will be sent to the resolution officer. On the basis of the investigation report by the Returning Officer, the report of necessary guidelines will be received by the concerned investigation team FST and District Grievance Controller.
