IN AN exemplary display of innovation and technical prowess, a team of final year Mechanical Engineering students from Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM) Nagpur, emerged victorious at Varroc Eureka Challenge2.0, a national-level competition organised by Varroc Engineering Ltd, Pune. The competition involved solving one of the challenges provided by the company related to automobile engineering and road transport. Out of more than 500 registered teams all over India, 6 teams were shortlisted through series of many rounds spread over a period of 4 months for the grand finale.
The grand finale was held on October 9, 2023, at Varroc’s headquarters in Pune. The RCOEM team, consisting of Mayank Kumar, Prathmesh Wandile, Ayush Namdev and Ayush Rathi, guided by Dr Sandeep Joshi from Mechanical Engineering Department secured the coveted first position in the competition by successfully developing a ground-breaking haze removal system for rear-view side mirrors in vehicles.
Their diligent efforts led to the creation of not one, but four innovative solutions, all of which have been officially filed as patents at the Indian Patent Office. Varroc Engineering Ltd, Pune, extended pre-placement offers to all four members as graduate engineer trainees, with an annual package of Rs 11.5 lakh. The Principal of RCOEM Dr R S Pande and HoD Dr V V Shukla congratulated them their achievement.
