Ansar make winning start

 

 

 

 

SOHAIL Umar struck in the first half to help defending champions Ansar Club, Kamptee start their campaign on a winning note in the JSW Elite Division League Championship at Nagpur District Football Association’s Suyog Nagar ground on Monday. Sohail’s lone strike in the 39th minute helped the two-time champions pip Big Ben by a solitary goal in the opener. In the 39th minute Sakib Athar lobbed a ball from the right flank which deflected from Big Ben defender and landed in front of Umar who made no mistake in sending the ball across the goal line.

 

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Rajesh Jain, Vice-President Plant Head, JSW. Rinku Singh, NDFA President Haresh Vora, Iqbal Kashmiri, Stanley Gregory, Atmaram Pande, Abid Khan, Eugene Norbert, Khalid Ansari, Kamil Ansari, AB Khan, Mehfooz Akhtar, Kamal Ansari and others were present. On Tuesday: Rahul SSA vs Rabbani Club, Kamptee at 2.30 pm.
