The 60-feet tall effigies of Ravana and Kumbhakarna will be set ablaze and there will also be a thrilling display of fireworks during this year’s Punjabi Dussehra at Gwarighat on October 23, informed senior office-bearers of Punjabi Hindu Association while addressing a press conference, on Friday. President Chandrakumar Bhanoth, Sudhir Mehta, Rajiv Oberai, Umesh Sharma, Anshul Malik informed that renowned pyrotechnicians, including some of India’s best, will showcase their unmatched skills, lighting up the sky with a mesmerising array of multicoloured fireworks. National-level firework experts will perform a series of breathtaking fireworks displays. Besides, dhol and dul dul ghodi, vibrant dazzling disco lights and a spectacular Dandiya performance will be the main attractions of the celebration.
The organisers informed that Punjab Dussehra will commence at 4.30 pm with the worship of Lord Ram with the blessings of Dr Swami Narasimhdas Ji Maharaj. Ashok Kapoor and Chandrakumar Bhanoth will be the special guests.
The cultural programme will commence with ‘Shri Ganesh Vandana’ and ‘Shri Narmada Prasuti’. Additionally, a group focused on traditional and folk culture will showcase various dance forms. The effigies of Ravana and Kumbhakarna, standing at a towering height of 60 feet will be set ablaze and in the evening there will be a grand procession of Lord Shri Ram. The internationally acclaimed Shyam Band, with 200 artists will present divine melodies during the grand procession of Lord Shri Ram.
