FORMER JSW League champions Rahul Sankrutyayan Sports Association had to toil hard to eke out a win against Indian Friends Football Club (IFFC) in their second match of the league at Dr Ambedkar Football Stadium in Suyog Nagar. After suffering a shocking 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Rabbani Club, Kamptee, Rahul boys were determined to change their fortunes. But their were forced to work hard by an energetic IFFC lads. The all important goal was scored by Rohit Roy in the 9th minute of play.
Mehul Sendram delivered a perfect cross from left wing and Roy collected it on the top of the rectangle. With no defender around him, Roy took time to bang a powerful right footer into the net leaving rival goalkeeper stranded.
This was IFFC’s first loss after they had played out a 1-1 draw against Nagpur Blues. Rahul’s Tarkesh Singh, Sagar Chintala and Arick Swami were warned for dangerous play.
