Govt doctor booked for raping woman patient

A Government surgeon allegedly held a tribal girl captive in his flat and raped her for nearly two weeks. The victim had come from Chhindwara for her treatment in the State run hospital near Kohefiza earlier this month, said police. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, the girl told that the accused Dipak Nayak was her surgeon when she came from her home town to Bhopal for treatment. I had returned home post the surgery and was waiting for my medical reports, said the victim. Nayak asked me to collect the reports on October 15 and I reached the hospital on the given date, she added.
However, he asked me to wait as her reports had not arrived, added the victim. He had taken my contact number and he contacted me and offered me to stay in his flat and I agreed, she said. Police said the accused lives in a flat at Lalghati. He took the girl to his flat and raped her.
When she tried to raise an alarm he promised to marry her, said police. Accused Nayak would lock the girl in his flat before leaving for job. He only offered her food once in the evening. The girl told that the accused also took her to a temple and performed some rituals pretending to tie a knot with the victim. He would order food online in the evening and offered me, she said. I would remain locked for the entire day until he returned, said the victim. It was two days back that I spoke to his mother and she asked me to leave the home. The accused also refused to marry me after which I decided to lodge a complaint. Mahila Thana police have booked Nayak under sections of rape and are searching him.
SHO Shilpa Kaurav said that the girl informed that the accused is on the run. We have contacted his family members who are based out of Bhopal in the case, she added.
