Taking serious cognizance of the crop damages due to heavy rains and various diseases in Nagpur district, Maharashtra’s Revenue, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil visited Nagpur and talked to the affected people. After completing his scheduled programme in Akola, Vikhe Patil visited the affected areas of Kondhali, Katol, Pawanwadi, Pardsingha in Nagpur district. A large amount of crop has been damaged in Nagpur district due to incessant rains in the month of September. Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Anil Patil, Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde also visited recently.
Mainly, soybean crop has been damaged in a big way in the district. During the interaction, farmers informed the Revenue Minister about the losses caused by ‘yellow mosaic virus’ disease on soybeans. He discussed with the farmers about taking appropriate measures for pest control. On this occasion, Minister ensured that the panchnama of the crop damages in the district was done. He also said that the pending panchnamas, if any, would be completed. Vikhe Patil also inspected the sweet lime crop in the field of Bhagwan Kameria, a farmer from Pawanwadi. On this occasion, he suggested that research should be done on varieties of oranges and sweet lime crops.
During his tour, the Minister visited Dhok Mahajan Math at Vadli in Katol taluka and inspected the premises. He paid a visit to Anusaya Mata Temple in Paradsinga and offered prayer. On Sunday, Vikhe Patil will take stock of the damages in the district in Nagpur and will review it with senior officers at Nagpur Collectorate.
