Lokayukta Police, Jabalpur nabbed Home Guard Sainik and Private Driver of Mining Department while taking bribe of Rs. 12,000 for releasing the tractor-trolley loaded with illegal stock of sand at office of Assistant Geologist, Mining Department situated at Katanga, on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as Nandlal Jharia, posted as Sainik Home Guard and Private Driver Vinod Kumar of Assistant Geologist Mining Department.
 
According to Lokayukta Police Jabalpur, an appellant Girdhari Singh Patel, a resident of Bhadri village lodged a written complaint at office of Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta Jabalpur that a flying squad of Mining Department seized his tractor trolley for loading illegal stock of sand. He contacted at the office of Mining Department where Home Guard Sainik and Driver assured him for releasing his tractor-trolley along with sand stock against the bribe of Rs 15,000. Thereafter, the deal was settled with the bribe of Rs 12,000. Home Guard Sainik and Driver called him at office of Assistant Geologist Mining Department in Katanga for payment of bribe amount.
 
Acting on the complaint, SP, Lokayukta constituted a team and fielded the appellant for collecting evidences. Once the information was confirmed a team of Lokayukta Police Jabalpur trapped both the accused while taking bribe of Rs 12,000 from the appellant at Office of Assistant Geologist, Mining Department. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the corrupt Government employee under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act while further investigations are underway. The accused was trapped by team led by DSP Lokayukta, Dilip Jharbade.
