Congress candidate from West Assembly, Tarun Bhanot, on Saturday conducted election campaigning in many areas of Shankar Shah Ward including Rampur Azad Chowk, Kachhi Mohalla, Muslim Mohalla, Yadav Mohalla, Patel Mohalla, Chaudhary Mohalla, Ramnagar Market, Durga Nagar, Chhapar Main Road, Laxmi Vihar, Saraswati Colony, Brijmohan Nagar, High Court Society and Reeva Colony. During campaigning, he discussed the issue related to International-level sports stadium in Jabalpur. He said an unused structure has been erected in Wright Town Stadium in the name of smart city development project.
Bhanot said during the Congress Government, while serving as the Finance Minister, he had fulfilled all formalities to establish sports complexes and an international cricket stadium near Badda Dada Ground near Medical College. Assuring public, Bhanot said the project file for the International cricket stadium in Jabalpur is ready and once the Congress party forms government in the State with people’s blessings, the construction of cricket stadium and sports complex will commence immediately. Bhanot highlighted the promises made by Congress party in their manifesto, which include initiation of a state-level Cricket Premier League, monthly honorarium for medal-winning athletes and a reward of Rs 5 crore for winners in Olympic, World Cup, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. Those participated in the campaigning were Lakshmi Narayan Kesarwani, Ganesh Dhangar, Munna Kushwaha, Dinesh Thakur, Umesh Patel, Raghav Patel, Sanjay, and Mohan Patel were present during the public outreach initiative.
