Like past year, this year too, devotees illuminated the banks of river Narmada at Gwarighat with earthen lamps during ‘Ek Deep Samriddhi Ke Liye’ festival. The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp in presence of revered saints, followed by recitation of Maa Narmada Ashtak and Mahaarti of Maa Narmada. Later, people lit the earthen lamps they had brought with them. Addressing the gathering, Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh said, “We, as followers of Sanatan Dharma begin any auspicious event with lighting of lamps. Our biggest festival, Diwali is a celebration of light, joy and enthusiasm. Therefore, last year we initiated the Deepotsav programme on the banks of river Narmada at Gwarighat.
Continue the tradition, this year on the eve of Diwali, the programme was organized with great enthusiasm and devotees participated in the same with great zeal. Singh said on January 22, 2024 after 600 years, Lord Ram will be enshrined in the grand temple. He invited everyone to become witnesses to this auspicious occasion and seek the darshan of Lord Ram.
Singh extended best wishes for Diwali to all the citizens of Jabalpur and the entire nation, hoping for the well-being of all on this occasion of the grand festival of lights. Those also present on the occasion were Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri, Swami Girishanand Saraswati, Swami Kalinanand, Pt. Ashok Manodhya, Ramamurti Mishra, Rajnish Yadav, Rajiv Bentia, Kaushal Suri, Sharda Kushwaha, Manish Dubey, Sushil Choubey, Akhilesh Tiwari, Suresh Pandey, Deepak Yadav, Munnu Tiwari and others.
