The 34-year-old man who allegedly committed suicide on the railway tracks after killing his wife was dealing with imaginary fear of being killed. He would often warn his brothers about threats from unknown persons and it was happening since eight to ten days ago, say police. The shocking incident of the murder and suicide was reported in Gautam Nagar area on Sunday night and now cops are probing the cause that led to these deaths. The bodies of the couple were handed over to their family, on Monday. Assistant Sub Inspector Vinod Tiwari said that Ramswaroop Ahirwar (34), resident of Fiza Colony in Nariyalkheda. He killed his wife following a verbal spat on Sunday. Later, he committed suicide at the tracks in the evening. The Police said the accused husband committed suicide out of fear and remorse.
 
ASI Tiwari said that the couple is survived by their four-year-old son. He said that Ahirwar had served jail term in an attempt to murder case and was released a year ago. He had reportedly lost his mental balance a few days ago. He would often tell his brothers to hide behind tables as they may be attacked. On Sunday, he had a verbal spat with his wife Rajkumari Ahirwar (30). Due to a dispute, he locked his wife in a room and attacked her with an iron rod. The woman pleaded for her life but when her mother-in-law and sister-in-law present opened the door, they saw her lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Meanwhile, Ramswaroop rushed out of the room, pushed his mother and sister away and ran away.
 
With the help of neighbours, the family admitted Rajkumari to Hamidia Hospital, where she died at around 8 pm. Police said that Ramswaroop had escaped from the house and later the information about his dead body lying on the Sharda Nagar railway was received. Police said Ahirwar was not run over by the train but he had died due to collision. The couple was married in the year 2009 now they are survived by their four year old son. Ramswaroop’s mother Rakka Bai and his sister Asha also lived with them. As soon as the information about the incident was received, family of his in-laws also reached Bhopal.
