President Murmu to deliver RTMNU’s 111th convocation address on Dec 2

President of India Droupadi Murmu will address the 111th convocation ceremony of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) on December 2, at 10 am. The ceremony will be held at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Reshimbag. Ramesh Bais, Governor and Chancellor of universities in Maharashtra, will preside over the convocation ceremony. Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister; Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Transport and Highways; Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister; Chandrakant Patil, Higher and Technical Education Minister, will be the guests. Dr Subhash Choudhari, Vice-Chancellor of RTMNU will deliver the welcome speech. The university has completed 100 years of existence and this academic year is being celebrated as the centenary year. The work of imparting knowledge to the students is continuously going on through the affiliated colleges and post graduate education department of the university. The university is conducting a large number of examinations and everyone’s participation is important, said Dr Subhash Chaudhary while interacting with mediapersons on Wednesday at RTMNU’s Jamnalal Bajaj Bhavan.
 
The students who passed the examination conducted in winter 2022 and summer 2023 will be awarded the degrees. Two students will receive their respective medals at the hands of President. They include Dr R H Tupkari will be confered with D.Sc from the Faculty of Science and Technology and Rajshree Ramteke will receive Dr T. V. Gedam Gold medal for fulfilling the criterion set by university to get Ph.D. 79,447 students will be awarded degrees in this convocation. Faculty-wise number of degrees to be confered upon eligible students from affiliated Colleges include Faculty of Science and Technology - 29,641, Faculty of Commerce and Management - 19,843, Faculty of Humanities - 19,312, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies - 3,951, Autonomous Colleges - 6,400, Degree Certificate - 300 medals/ awards.
 
In this convocation ceremony, 129 researchers are being honored with the title of Acharya. Acharya degree holders include 60 in the Faculty of Science and Technology, 21 in the Faculty of Commerce and Management, 36 in the Faculty of Humanities, 13 in the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies etc. The 100th convocation will be telecast live on the university YouTube channel from 9 am till the end of the program. This will make the facility of watching the live convocation ceremony of the university available to all the students and parents all over the world.
