Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) took review of the vaccination of children in city. Additional Municipal Commissioner Anchal Goyal took stock of the situation and was brief by the officials of Health Department about current status in Government and private hospitals during a meeting of Task Force held at civic body headquarters on Friday. The Addl MC also directed officials to increase the pace of vaccination zone wise, taking care that no child should be deprived of vaccination under the regular vaccination programme. Health workers should go door to door to spread awareness about vaccination and its advantages. Goyal also directed Health Department bosses to take regular review of the number of children born and vaccination done in various private hospitals in the city.
 
A regular Task Force committee meeting will be held on the first Friday of every month in order to take action regarding the status of vaccination, its problems and solutions. The Additional Commissioner suggested to vaccinate children by conducting vaccination program in Anganwadis within the city limits. The Health Department should co-ordinate in this regard as full co-operation is expected from the Anganwadi workers for vaccination. She underlined need to pay attention to 'high risk' places where children are yet to be vaccinated and public awareness should be created, there are many constructions going on in the city and vaccination campaigns should also be conducted there. The first medical officer of the World Health Organisation Dr. Mohammad Sajid presented the information about the routine immunisation system Zone wise. RCH Officer Dr Vasundhara Bhoyar shared feedback about the instructions given in the previous meeting and the action taken thereon.
