All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), known as ‘Mother of all Central Trade Unions in India’ celebrated its 103rd Foundation Day at Parwana Bhavan, Station Road on October 31. Mohan Sharma, All India Secretary AITUC presided over the programme. Shyam Kale, General Secretary, Maharashtra State AITUC was the chief guest. Prashant Dixit, General Secretary, General Insurance Employees’ Union, Western Zone, Jyoti Undersahare, District Secretary and Vanita Kapse, Nagpur Taluka President and Anganwadi Balwadi Karmachari Sangathan, Arun Wankar, District Secretary CPI and C M Mourya, Nagpur, District Secretary, AITUC were also present. Vanita Kapse informed about the struggles undertaken by the organisation since last 103 years. Mohan Sharma informed about the history of AITUC. He informed that leaders Lala Lajpat Rai, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, V V Giri, Indrajit Gupta, A B Bardhan, Gurudas Dasgupta had headed AITUC. Arun Vankar paid homage to Late Gurudas Dasgupta.
