Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader, Jairam Ramesh, on Monday launched a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging that the central government is misusing Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He said it is necessary to investigate Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar’s son, whose video has also surfaced. The video allegedly shows involvement in a multi-crore rupee business. Ramesh claimed that our Chief Minister is being harassed unnecessarily and without cause by the ED and the CBI. He mentioned that when action is taken against us (Congress), it is deemed right, but when videos of BJP leaders emerge, it is called a conspiracy. The misuse of government agencies by the BJP poses a great danger to democracy.

The former Union Minister further stated that the BJP is engaged in a politics of revenge. However, when the results come out on December 3, the people of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan will give a befitting reply to the party and the Congress will gain a clear majority in all States. Commenting on the participation of seven Union Ministers in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, Jairam Ramesh said the BJP is nervous, which is why it is fielding senior Union Ministers in state elections. Replying to a query, on former Chief Minister of UP, Akhilesh Yadav’s statement against Congress Party in regard with Mahagathbandhan, Jairam Ramesh said the alliance is for the Lok Sabha elections, not for State Assembly elections. Once the elections are over, all the senior leaders of the Mahagathbandhan will convene and formulate a strategy to contest against the BJP.

He said the ongoing Assembly elections in five states are between BJP and Congress. Therefore, our complete focus is on the BJP at the moment. Our National President has recently spoken to Nitish Kumar as well. Therefore, there is no question of any dispute arising regarding our I.N.D.I.A alliance. Ramesh said we have also prepared a slogan for the Lok Sabha elections, which is “Judega Bharat, Jeetega India” (India will unite, India will win) and we are fully committed to fulfilling it.
