A 40-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision between two bikes on the Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Ganesh Chouhan, a resident of Nirmay Homes in Khajuri Kalan area. Police said that he was shifted to a hospital after the accident where he was declared dead. However, there was no documents found with him at the spot due to which police were clueless about his identity. However, a cop applied the dead body’s finger against the phone found at the spot, to unlock it. As the device got unlocked the police contacted his family.

Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Gokul Prasad said that he was working in the Bhopal Development Authority (BDA). He lived in Khajuri Kalan while his wife Arti lives separately, said the ASI. ASI told that when he got access to his contacts he called his wife and his brother to the Hamidia Hospital. The family members were clueless as where was he returning from, said the ASI. We received information about an accident near SOS road at around 7:30 pm, but before we could reach the scene the injured men were already taken to hospital in ambulance where Chouhan was declared brought dead, said the ASI.

We tried contacting his family using bike’s registration address but the house was locked. We then urged the doctor to allow us to use his index finger to unlock his phone and then we informed his wife and brother, he said. The other injured man is undergoing treatment in hospital but we are yet to trace him, said the cop. His family members told that Chouhan was survived by his wife and a 12-year-old son. They said that his parents had passed away in corona. The Piplani Police handed over the body to family members on Thursday and an FIR has been registered.
