INTERNATIONAL athlete Hima Das will grace the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav (KKM) flag distribution function which is going to be held on Sunday at 11.30 am at Bhai Bardhan Subhagrah, Kingsway Hospital Building, Kingsway, opposite Kasturchand Park. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will preside over the function and will announce the date of the competition. On the occasion, Nagpur City BJP President Jitendra (Bunty) Kukde, MLA Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, Mohan Mate, Praveen Datke, BJP Nagpur District President Sudhakar Kohle, Sameer Meghe, MLA Tekchand Savarkar will also remain present. This year’s Khasdar Krida Mahotsav is going to be held in more grand and attractive manner.

 

The sixth edition will last for 17 days and during these 17 days 55 sports will be held at 66 grounds of the city. Around 1050 teams in 55 different sports, 4800 officials, 65,000 players will be in action. A total of 12500 matches will be played and 8980 medals and 735 trophies will be awarded to the athletes. The total prize money for the KKM-6 is Rs 1 crore 35 lakh. On Sunday, Gadkari and Hima Das will also announce the date of the Mahotsav.

 

President of organising committee Sandip Joshi, Secretary Dr Piyush Ambulkar, Treasurer Ashish Mukim, Nagesh Sahare, Padmakar Charmode, Dr Sambhaji Bhosle, Dr Vivek Awasare, Sachin Deshmukh, Ashfaq Sheikh, Amit Sampat, Satish Wade, Sachin Mathane, Sunil Manekar, Laxmikant Kirpane, Dr Saurabh Mohod, Ramesh Bhandari, Prakash Chandrayaan and others are working hard for the success of the Mohatsav. The office of KKM was inaugurated the other day at the hands of Kukde at Glocal Mall, Sitabuldi. Arjuna and Dronacharya awrd winner Vijay Munishwar and others were present on the occasion.
