He said that shops in New Market, MP Nagar in new Bhopal or Zumerati, Hanumanganj, Chowk Bazaar, Sarafa Bazaar, Hamidia Road in old Bhopal too are closed by 10 pm. On the other hand, shops in Qazi Camp, Lakshmi Talkies, Budhwara, Char Batti, Imami Gate, Itwara, Jahangirabad, Jinsi Square etc. remain open throughout the night. There is a gathering of anti-social elements at these places. Due to this the young generation is getting addicted to drugs.
Therefore, all the markets should be closed at the same time. The State Government has banned selling meat and fish in the open. Following the Government’s order, Collector Singh also held a meeting with meat and fish sellers on Thursday and informed them about the instructions issued regarding the ban. The meat and fish sellers asked for a week’s time to follow the instructions. Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra says that they have called a meeting with district administration over opening of shops at odd hours in a few areas of Bhopal. After that the police will take action, he said.
