Adopting to latest technology advancements will drive future growth of the country, said Sanjeev Walde, Director, T-systems while speaking at the Zero Mile Samvad – a Global Thought Leadership Summit organised by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur on Saturday. Walde was speaking at the panel discussion on ‘Growth through technology: Role of telecom, education and banking in India’s road to prosperity’. Ruza Sabanovic, Executive Vice President, Telenor and Abhijit Naik, Executive Director, Morgan Stanley were also present at the panel discussion. Walde further said new technologies like 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI), ChatGPT etc., are being used in a big way by industry, supply chains, manufacturing, and service industry, banking etc., to improve efficiency.

 

Ruza Sabanovic said that the advancements in technology and 5G development in rural areas would make a huge difference and drive growth. Abhijit Naik said the telecom infrastructure needs to be installed in rural areas so that people in those areas. Mobility is the key driving force to access banking, education, healthcare and other services. “We have to embrace latest technology to drive future growth in the country. People have to be educated and know how to use it.” Jagdish Mitra, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Growth, Tech Mahindra moderated the session.
