“Five new flyovers being constructed will help clear the traffic congestion in East Nagpur. They will come in handy to cater to the increasing vehicular traffic in the densely populated areas and benefit citizens and traders alike,” said Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. He assured that there would be proper planning at either end of landing of these bridges to avoid mishaps. On Sunday, Gadkari performed bhoomipujan of five new flyovers being constructed at cost of Rs 792 crore in city through Central Road Fund. Nine railway overbridges (RoBs) constructed by MahaRail were also dedicated at the function held near KDK College. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also present on the occasion.
 
The five flyovers would be from Wardhaman Nagar to Nirmal Nagari, Umred Road; Lakadganj Police Station to Wardhaman Nagar; Rajendra Nagar-Nandanvan to Hasanbagh Chowk; Chandrasekhar Azad Chowk to Marwadi Chowk; Reshimbagh to KDK College and Telephone Exchange Chowk to Bhande Plot. Krupal Tumane, Member of Parliament; BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, Ashish Jaiswal and Tekchand Sawarkar along with former MLC Anil Sole, BJP Maharashtra State Vice-President Sanjay Bhende, BJP City President Bunty Kukde, President of Traders Aghadi Virendra Kukreja attended the event. Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal, Managing Director, MahaRail, was also present. Addressing the gathering further, Gadkari expressed the feeling that the credit for the development work goes to the people. “We have been able to do various development works in city as the people have reposed faith in us and that enables us to carry out the work as per the given mandate.”
 
Gadkari also complemented MahaRail for completing the works within stipulated time. Around 31 RoBs were sanctioned from Central Government funds, of which 20 bridges work was awarded to MahaRail. Nagpur is developing all round, he said and recalled condition of East Nagpur was very different earlier. Now all the roads here are concretised and prestigious institute like Symbiosis have also come in this part of city. Apart from this, the traffic jam between Itwari and Gandhibagh will also be removed soon through all the construction of new wholesale grain market. Central Bus Stand and Nagpur Railway Station look will also be changed and city is developing in all sectors like education, health, employment, infrastructure.
