697 PhD aspirants appear in entrance exam

Total 697 candidates appear in the PhD Entrance Examination organised by Hemchand Yadav University (HYU) Durg. A total of 830 candidates had applied for the entrance examination as such, 133 candidates remained absent. Giving this information, the University’s Dean of Student Welfare Dr Prashant Srivastava said that the maximum number of candidates appeared in the Faculty of Education while the least number of candidates appeared in the Geology subject. According to Dr Srivastava, PhD was conducted in 19 subjects.
 
The entrance examination was held today on Sunday at Kalyan Post Graduate College, Sector-7, Bhilai Nagar. University Vice-Chancellor Dr Aruna Palta visited all the 25 examination halls used for the entrance examination. Along with the Vice-Chancellor, University Registrar Bhupendra Kuldeep, DCDC Dr Pritalal, Deputy Registrar of Examinations Dr Rajmani Patel, Assistant Registrar Dr Sumit Aggarwal, Himanshu Shekhar Mandavi and Digvijay Kumar were also present. Dr Bhavana Parvat and Dr Manjusha Tirpude working in PhD Cell of the university played an important role in organising the examination.
 
According to Dr Srivastava, regarding the option on a question in Psychology subject, the candidates gave a written memorandum to Vice-Chancellor Dr Palta for amendment, on which Vice-Chancellor Dr Palta took immediate cognisance and gave two marks to every candidate who solved that question. When the candidates drew attention to the difference between Hindi and English translation in a question of Commerce subject, Vice-Chancellor Dr Palta instructed to give marks to every candidate who gave the correct answer. Candidates who are successful in the written examination will be invited for the interview to be held in the month of January as per the reservation policy of the government.
