Shinde also called for completing the work of modern firing range on Nagpur-Gadchiroli Road. Besides, he stressed upon creating posts of 25 officers and 500 personnel for the new police stations being set up in Gadchiroli district. All these appointments will be made at local level. He directed the officials concerned to take up on war-footing the task of rehabilitating the people displaced due to Naxal/Maoist menace, and also the surrendered Maoists in Gadchiroli district. Shinde issued the directions during a meeting of the State-level Committee constituted as per the integrated task force mechanism for co-ordination between National plan and action plan to tackle Left Wing Extremism. He presided over the meeting held at Chief Minister’s official residence Ramgiri in Civil Lines here on Monday.

 

Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister; Sujata Saunik, Additional Chief Secretary (Home); Rajneesh Seth, Director General of Police (DGP); Praveen Salunkhe, Additional DG (Special Operations); Jain, Joint Commissioner of Police; Padmakar Ranpise, Special Inspector General (IG), Central Reserve Police Force; and Sandeep Patil, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Gadchiroli Range; Sanjay Meena, District Collector of Gadchiroli, and other senior officers attended the meeting. Fadnavis discussed various aspects and issued appropriate directions to the officials concerned. Expressing the need for rehabilitation of surrendered Naxals/Maoists as well as people affected and displaced due to Left Wing Extremism, Shinde said that the money required for the same was to be spent from the District Planning Committee funds. He asked the officials to appoint on compassionate ground the next of kin of those martyred during special police action against Naxals.
