Third week of December is recorded biting cold condition in Bhopal. On Sunday-Monday night, temperature declined by 3.6 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature settled at 24.3 degrees Celsius. Many cities in Madhya Pradesh had minimum temperature below 10 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, temperature will be declining by one or two degree Celsius in Bhopal. For next three days, IMD has released warning of extreme cold conditions in Bhopal. Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) forecast that by the end of December, minimum temperature will be below ten degree Celsius. On December 22 or 23, western disturbance will be affecting the weather conditions and day temperature will be declining while night temperature will be increasing by one or two points. After December 25, temperature will be declining and people will be shivering with extreme cold condition. At present minimum temperature is ranging between 11 to 13 degrees Celsius. On Saturday-Sunday night, temperature was settled at 12.8 degrees Celsius. IMD has predicted light rainfall on December 22 or 23. On Monday, maximum temperature in Bhopal was 24.3 degrees Celsius and minimum 9.9 degrees Celsius.
Gwalior recorded maximum temperature as 25.6 degrees Celsius and minimum 9.0 degrees Celsius while Indore recorded maximum temperature as 24.2 degrees Celsius and minimum 12.6 degrees Celsius. Jabalpur recorded maximum temperature as 23.5 degrees Celsius and minimum 7.9 degrees Celsius. Lowest minimum temperature was recorded 6.4 degrees Celsius in Pachmarhi while Datia, Raisen and Rajgarh recorded minimum temperature as 8.2 degrees Celsius. Ujjain recorded minimum temperature as 10 degrees Celsius. Rewa and Umaria also recorded minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees Celsius. Naugaon recorded minimum temperature as 8 degrees Celsius and Khajuraho recorded minimum temperature as 9.0 degrees Celsius. The Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari has issued an advisory for the residents asking them to take adequate precautions against the ongoing cold wave in the city. In winter season, cold wave starts when the temperature goes down. Due to which there is a possibility of many adverse effects on human health like cold, fever, pneumonia, skin diseases, lung infection, hypothermia, asthma, allergies. For an effective protection against cold wave, warm clothes that have several layers of clothes as those are highly useful. Quilt, blanket, sweater, warm clothes should be used and waterproof shoes with muffler and cover should also be used while going out, the advisory notes. The civil surgeons and development block medical officers have been ordered to direct Asha supervisors, ANM, MPW at the field level for public awareness.
