FIZZA Akbani, a student of BVM, made it to the main draw of Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub-Junior (U-15 and U-17) Ranking Badminton Tournament 2023 being played at Bangalore. In the qualifying round of Under-15 category, Fizza, who trains under Ajay Dayal, international player and junior Indian team coach, at Doshi and Dayal Badminton Academy, Wardhaman Nagar, defeated top seed Ishika Kashyap 16-14, 15-12. In the semi-final, the Nagpur girl got the better of Yaswitha Sai Raavuru 15-11, 15-9 to enter main draw of the tournament.
