In yet another horrifying case of honour killing, a youth who has gone to meet his girlfriend was burnt alive allegedly by brother of his lover in Kajlikheda village of Kolar locality, police said on Friday. His body was buried in a field. Police recovered the half-burnt body on Friday. Briefing about the horrific incident, Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari said, “Sanju Sisodia (21), a resident of Kajlikheda village of Kolar police station area, had gone to meet his girlfriend on November 23 and was missing since then. After which the family lodged a missing complaint at Kolar Police Station.

 

On the basis of suspicion, the police detained the girlfriend’s brother Bhura Dhurve and interrogated him. During interrogation, he confessed to have killed him when Sanju went to meet sister at her house. As he entered the house, the brother of the girl allegedly caught him and thrashed him badly. They poured kerosene on him and set him afire.

The police recovered the body from a field in Borda village at the behest of the accused.

 

According to information received from police sources, the girl’s brother did not like the love affair between them and that is why he killed Sanju. After this, he also tried to burn the dead body of the youth with the intention of destroying the evidence. When he was not successful in this, he dug a pit in the field and buried the body. Sanju’s father Babulal Sisodia (45) said that his son had left home at 11 pm on November 23. He did not return throughout the night. We searched for him everywhere, but could not find him anywhere. After this he lodged a report in the police station. Apart from this, family members have also lodged a complaint with CM helpline. Meanwhile, police told us that Sanju has been murdered by girl’s family, father of victimg said.
