With emphasis on Joint Theatre Command, IAF’s Air Officer-in-Charge visits COD

Air Officer-in-Charge of the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal Vibhas Pandey visited ‘Central Ordnance Depot (COD) Jabalpur’ the largest ammunition depot in the country. The Air Marshal was briefed by the Commandant and officers of COD Jabalpur about the ongoing operational and administrative preparations. During the inspection of ammunition depot, the Air Marshal praised the Commandant and all the staff for their operational preparedness.
 
His visit is also important because in the present context, special emphasis is being given towards the armed forces by the ‘Joint Theater Command’, and in today’s challenging times, better coordination and integration is also necessary between the armed forces in the field of logistics. Meanwhile, Air Marshal Pandey said that there are many areas where mutual cooperation is possible between the three services. During this time he discussed the feasibility of indigenous development of new stores like fuses for various ammunition, rockets and bombs.
 
After visiting COD Jabalpur, he praised Brigadier Vasanta Kumar, Commandant COD Jabalpur and the entire staff of COD for their professional contribution in making India modernized and self-reliant and wished for the bright future of COD Jabalpur. Apart from this, he described the visit to Central Ordnance Depot, Jabalpur as a good opportunity and greatly appreciated the working system and methods adopted by the Indian Army.
