“Students’ status is a never-ending state and requires constant study. Be a continuous learner, keep on acquiring necessary skills to make Atmanirbhar Bharat,” stated Prof B S Murty, Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad at the Graduation Ceremony of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management held on Saturday at College premises. Prof B S Murty was the chief guest of the ceremony. Dr Satyanarayan Nuwal, Chairman, RCOEM presided over the function. Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) was the guest of honour. Rajendra Purohit, General Secretary, RCOEM; Dr Avichal Kapur, Joint Secretary of University Grants Commission; Dr Rajesh Pande, Principal; Dr Manoj Chandak, Dean (Academics); Dr Abhijeet Agashe, Controller of Examination; Prof Nikhil Damle, Registrar; Deans and Chairman, Board of Studies of the various departments were seated on the dais.
Prof Murty recalled his association with Nagpur, and thanked the teachers of his time for helping him in to imbibe the values, developing the well round personality. He highlighted OAT - Open to All Teaching initiative at IIT-Hyderabad for the benefit of the poor and weaker sections of the society. Prof Murty urged the graduands to use the skills acquired by them for the benefit of the common man. He appealed to all the researchers to take advantage of Technology Innovation Centre at IIT-Hyderabad to get mentoring and funding. The graduands were presented silver and gold medals for their academic excellence at the hands of the chief guest. The prestigious Ramdeobaba Medal for Excellence in Academics was awarded to Atul Ratnakar Thakre of Computer Science and Engineering (2021-22 batch) and Nidhi Misra of Computer Science and Engineering (2022-23 batch). Additionally, a total of 62 students from various branches were felicitated and awarded gold medals and silver medals for securing 1st and 2nd positions, respectively.
Dr Sanjay Dudhe stressed upon the challenges of the modern world. The graduates coming out of the engineering and technological institutes must remember that they have to arm themselves by making use of their engineering and technological skill to solve the problems faced by the contemporary world. Dr Satyanarayan Nuwal, in his presidential address, motivated the students by quoting verses from Veda-Upanishad. For any institute, its students are its brand ambassadors, stated Nuwal. He appealed everyone to use their talents to make Bharat a Vishwa Guru. Dr Rajesh Pande gave a welcome speech and shared the achievements and milestones of RCOEM. Around 2,600 graduands received their graduation certificates while proud parents, teachers and others were seated in the audience. The graduation ceremony began with a glorious academic procession with the chanting of Vedic hymns signifying the attainment of peace and harmony. Dr Akanksha Deshpande, Prof Jasleen Kaur Rihan and Prof Pratishruti Singh-Agrawal, conducted the proceedings of the ceremony.
