With carol singing, the message of the birth of Christ Jesus was conveyed at different churches in the city on Monday.
The infant Christ was born in a stable and devotees prayed for the peace, happiness and prosperity everywhere and to make the world free from the curse of COVID. As per tradition, the followers of Christian community celebrated the Christ’s birth with cake and coffee. In Jabalpur, the diversity of celebrations was evident as Christmas decorations adorn homes, streets, and churches, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry. The festive fervour united people from various backgrounds, fostering a sense of togetherness and goodwill.
The solemn and joyous occasion marked the anticipation of Christmas, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Simultaneously, the festive spirit extended into homes, where families came together to partake in various heartwarming traditions. Their homes were adorned with sparkling Christmas trees, twinkling lights, and festive wreaths, creating a magical ambience. People visited different churches to have a look of beautiful tableaux and did not forget to take selfies to make their festival memorable. Programmes were organised throughout Sunday night at Holy Trinity Church, Bhanwartal, Disciple Church, Nagrath Chowk, St. Peter’s and Paul Church, Sadar, Hawabagh City Methodist Church and other churches in the city.
All the churches were beautifully decorated with bright lights and colourful flowers. At Holy Trinity Church people assembled in the midnight and lit candles in front of Mother Mary. Christmas Casseroles and Holy Mass were organised at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral Church. Similarly, Christmas Casseroles and Holy Communion Service were held at Christ Church Cathedral CNI, Napier Town and other churches in the city.
