UNBEATEN Mayank Santosh Hedau emerged champion while Bhavan’s BPVM, Civil Lines took the honours in school’s category of the 3rd Children’s Chess Festival organised by Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation, Chess Association Nagpur and GH Raisoni Sports & Cultural Foundation. Mayank scored 8 points and was clear winner. Kushagra Paliwal with 7.5 points took the second spot. Five players were tied with seven points each but top seed Chirag Lahoti was adjudged third with better progressive scores.

 

In school’s category, Bhavan’s BPVM, Civil Lines won the title garnering 26.5 points. Centre Point School, Dabha, Amravati Road Bypass, with a point less finished second. Bhavan’s BPVM, Trimurti Nagar were third with 25 points.

Prizes were distributed by senior player and coach Jayant Katdhare. Guest of Honour Amit Gandhare and Bhushan Shriwas were prominently present. Shyam Agrawal proposed a vote of thanks.
