The trend of tourists arriving in large numbers to welcome the New Year with jungle safari in Pench Tiger Reserve continues. Tourists are also witnessing thrilling sights in this winter safari and are getting to see wildlife closely in the core area as well as in the buffer area. Tourists were thrilled to see the tiger and tigress together during the safari from Telia Gate to Khawasa Buffer. According to forest officials, it is very rare and difficult to see a tiger and a tigress together at such a close distance. According to the information, more than 50 tourists travelling in 10 gypsy vehicles on safari got to see tiger and tigress near the unpaved road for about an hour.

The cubs, about four months old, who came out of the den with their mother, were seen walking and playing mischievously in the forest. After birth, the tigress keeps the cubs hidden in the den (cave) for three-four months. The number of tourists taking safari to Pench forest has increased in the last fortnight of December. The gate of the core area in Pench Tiger Reserve is full due to advance booking. Tourists who reach the forest without advance booking are easily able to see black leopard, tiger and other wild animals even during the buffer tour. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the tourists due to this. In the new year, state level Mowgli Bal Utsav will be celebrated at Pench Tiger Reserve from 8 to 10 January, in which more than 400 students and guiding teachers selected from all over Madhya Pradesh will participate.
