Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Rajendra Shukla inaugurated the three-day 38th Indian Engineering Congress, on Wednesday. The mega event is being organised under the aegis of Institution of Engineers (India) Local Centre Jabalpur, from December 27 to 29. On the inauguration of this Indian Engineering Congress organized on the theme ‘Reimagining Tomorrow: Shaping the Future through Disruptive and Interdisciplinary Technologies’, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said that such a big event is being organised for the first time in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Government will fully benefit from organizing this effort. He said that whatever papers will be presented during the Engineering Congress, Madhya Pradesh government will get them fully studied. He said that the Madhya Pradesh government will always be ready to consider and implement the suggestions of the Institution of Engineers.
He said that engineers are the backbone of our country’s development. He said that Madhya Pradesh is a rapidly progressing developed state in which engineers have played an important role. Speaking about the role of engineers in the society, he said that engineers also have the responsibility to save the country from national loss because engineers are able to get more work done at less expense. He said that engineers have knowledge, ability and engineers contribute significantly to every section of the society. The chief guest of the ceremony was UP Singh, former Secretary to the Government of India. On this occasion, Major General Dr. MJS Sayli, Secretary and Director General, Chairman of IEI Jabalpur Local Centre, Brigadier VK Trivedi, newly elected Chairman of IEI, Dr. G. Ranganath, shared the dais.
Current Chairman of IEI Engineer Shivanand Rai, Organizing Committee Chairman Rakesh Kumar Rathore and Secretary of Jabalpur Local Centre Rajeev Jain, ex-chairman of Jabalpur Local Centre I .K.Khanna, Vinod Bilthare, Virendra Sahu, Tarun Anand, many engineers and experts, famous industrialists including PC Dubey were present.
Engineer Tarun Anand, media in-charge of the organizing committee, said that several memorial lectures were presented on the first day of the 38th Indian Engineering Congress. In this, M Visvesvaraya Memorial Lecture was presented by Dr. S. Sumanth, retired director of Karnataka Power Transmission Company Limited. Apart from this, Bhaikka Memorial Lecture, Rajendra Nath Mukherjee Memorial Lecture, Needhu Bhushan Memorial Lecture, Dr. AN Khosla Memorial Lecture, Dr. Amitabh Bhattacharya Memorial Lecture, Professor CS Jha Memorial Lecture and Dr KL Rao Memorial Lecture were presented. Apart from various programs, other programs like Women Engineers Meet, Wish Nari Talk and Alumni Meet were also organized in this Congress.
