NAGPUR’S golden boy Ojas Deotale scripted history after he became the first ever Indian male to become world champion. Ojas, 21, won the world championship in Berlin, Germany in August. A couple of months later, Ojas hit the bull’s eye winning three gold medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games. His stupendous performance helped him win the prestigious Arjuna Award, the second-highest sporting honour of India.

The 21-year-old Ojas, son of Pravin and Archana was toast of the nation after becoming world champion. In the same competition, Ojas helped the Indian Compound team grab the yellow metal making it a double delight for himself as well as for India. The talented archer won gold medals in individual compound, team compound and mixed compound events which helped India’s medal tally score over 100 mark in the Asian Games.
