of technology, continued
learning assumes importance,” advised President of
India Droupadi Murmu
while addressing the 111th
convocation of Rashtrasant
Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur
University (RTMNU) at
Kavivarya Suresh Bhat
Auditorium, on Saturday.

The President told students

nation and society. She said,

the shoulders of students.
Adverse circumstances may
come in their life but they
should not be afraid of them.
Students should face the critical situations with their
knowledge and self-confidence, to stay connected with
their loved ones and have faith
in their abilities.”
“Research and innovation
play an important role in the
development of any country.
I am happy to note that
RTMNU is encouraging
research, innovation and
technology development.The
faculty members of this university have earned more than
60 patents on their various
research projects. The university has an Incubation
Center to encourage start-ups
culture among the students.
Students and faculty should
do research and innovation
keeping local problems in
their mind,” urged Murmu. Stating that today the whole
world has become a global village, President cautioned, “No
institution can remain cut off
from the world. Nagpur
University must promote interdisciplinary studies and international collaboration. Only by
sharing research and innovation with each other, we can
face the challenges standing
before the world.
“Any resource can be used
or misused.
The same fact
applies with technology too. If
we use it properly, it will be
beneficial for the society and
country. Its misuse causes damage to mankind. For example,
the use of Artificial Intelligence
is making our lives easier. But
its use for Deepfake is a threat
to society.The moral education
directs us on right path,” felt
President Murmu.

mind that they have to compete with the world. With India
growing constantly, the world
is looking at our skilled manpower. Under the guidance of
Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
the country is achieving excellence in all fields. We in
Maharashtra also are trying to
introduce several things that
would contribute in nation’s
growth,” said Governor
Ramesh Bais.

poised to become an economic
superpower by 2030 under the
leadership of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, Devendra

too, have to grow, update and
upgrade ourselves with the rise
of India.
The universities need
to play an important role as far
as creating quality skilled

fulfill the dream given by our

Maharashtra stood number
one in start-up ecosystem.”
