The State Government has issued a gazette notification of the portfolios allocated to the newly-constituted Cabinet after the approval of Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan on Friday. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has decided to retain General Administration Department (GAD), Mineral Resources, Energy and Department of Public Relations along with Commercial Tax (Excise) and Transport. The Chief Minister will also hold all other unallocated portfolios. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao would hold Public Works Department (PWD), Public Health Engineering Department, Law and Legislative Affairs and Urban Administration and Development Department. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has been given Home and Jail, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Technical Education and Employment, Science and Technology Department.

 

Cabinet Minister Brijmohan Agrawal would hold School Education, Higher Education, Parliamentary Affairs, Religious Trust and Endowment, Tourism and Culture. Cabinet Minister Ram Vichar Netam has been allocated Department of Tribal and Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Classes and Minority Development Department, Agriculture Development and Farmers’ Welfare Department. Cabinet Minister Dayaldas Baghel will hold Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department. Cabinet Minister Kedar Kashyap has been given the Forest and Climate Change Department, Water Resources Department, Skill Development and Cooperative. Cabinet Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan will hold Commerce and Industry Department and Labour Department. Cabinet Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal will hold the portfolios of Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Twenty Point Implementation. Cabinet Minister O P Choudhary has been given the Finance Department, Commercial Tax, House and Environment Department, Planning, Economics and Statistics. Cabinet Minister Laxmi Rajwade will hold Women and Child Development Department and Social Welfare Department. Cabinet Minister Tankram Verma has been given the portfolios of Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Revenue and Disaster Management. After eight days of swearing-in-ceremony of the Cabinet ministers, the State Government has allocated portfolios to the Cabinet ministers. It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai along with Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma took the oath on December 13 while the Cabinet ministers were administered the oath on December 22.
