The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious in three seats of the Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha, while the Congress party clinched five seats. Dr. Raman Singh, former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, has shattered his own victory record, securing a spectacular win with a margin of 45,084 votes against his closest rival, Girish Dewangan of the Congress. Dr. Raman Singh, contesting for the fourth time from Rajnandgaon, achieved an unprecedented feat by winning the seats by a significant margin. The official results from the election office reveal that Dr. Raman Singh garnered a total of 102,499 votes, leaving Girish Dewangan trailing with 57,415 votes. The Congress party, however, managed to secure victories in three assembly seats—Dongargaon, Dongargarh, and Khujji—defeating BJP candidates. In Dongargaon Assembly, Congress candidate Daleshwar Sahu triumphed over former District Panchayat President and BJP candidate Bharat Verma by 2,789 votes.

Harshita Baghel of Congress secured a win in Dongargarh Assembly, defeating her closest rival, BJP candidate Vinod Khandekar, by a margin of 14,367 votes. In a triangular contest in Khujji Assembly, Bholaram Sahu of Congress emerged victorious with a lead in all rounds, defeating BJP candidate Geeta Sahu by a substantial margin of 25,944 votes. The BJP faced a setback in Khairagarh Assembly, where Congress candidate Yashoda Nilambar Verma defeated Dr. Raman Singh’s nephew, Vikrant Singh, by 5,421 votes. Although Vikrant Singh initially led, Yashoda Verma steadily increased her lead, securing a total of 86,946 votes compared to Vikrant Singh’s 81,525 votes. In Mohla Manpur Assembly, Congress candidate Indershah Mandavi secured a decisive victory, defeating BJP candidate Sanjeev Shah by 31,528 votes.

Indershah Mandavi received a total of 77,112 votes, while Sanjeev Shah garnered 45,343 votes. Celebrations erupted among BJP leaders and supporters as the news of Dr. Raman Singh’s resounding victory spread. His son, MP Abhishek Singh, joined in the celebrations with workers outside the counting hall, accompanied by musical instruments. Meanwhile, Congress candidates, despite their wins in some constituencies, appeared subdued in the wake of the overall increase in BJP seats in the state. The victorious candidates from both parties received their certificates of victory from the District Election Officers and Returning Officers, marking the end of a fiercely contested election.
