Police have succeeded in retrieving the stolen cash of Rs 10 lakh from a marriage function but still failed in apprehending the accused girl and her accomplices involved in the theft. Once finding the location of one of the accused identified as Swati Bhaneriya, daughter of Sudhir Bhaneriya, native of Gulkheri, Boda in Rajgarh district, police raided the identified spot but the accused managed to escape from the spot but left behind the stolen bag filled with cash of Rs 10 lakh. Addressing a press conference, on Monday, Additional SP (City), Priyanka Shukla (IPS), disclosed that investigating the case, police learnt that the accused belong to Sansi Gang and two girls were involved in stealing the bag of cash from marriage function.
It may be noted that, at around 2:15 am on November 26, Hemant Kumar Soni (38), resident of Amarkantak Road, Azad Chowk in Dhanpuri, Shahdol district lodged a complaint that he is working as goldsmith. Marriage of his sister was fixed with Anupam Soni of Gosalpur. On November 25, he along with his family and relatives reached for Tilakotsava programme of his sister at Marriage Garden in Gosalpur. He carried the cash of Rs 10 lakh in a bag for different expenses during the marriage ritual. After the programme, he was engaged in photo session and placed his bag on the dais. Meanwhile, unidentified person took away the bag with cash of Rs 10 lakh. On his complaint, Gosalpur police registered a case under Section 379 of IPC. Taking a serious note into the case, Superintendent of Police, Aditya Pratap Singh (IPS) constituted a team under the supervision of Additional SP (City), Priyanka Shukla (IPS), Additional SP (Crime), Summer Verma, Additional SP (Rural), Suryakant Sharma, SDOP, Sihora, Parul Sharma and SHO, Gosalpur, Priyanka Kewat.
Investigating the case, police identified one of the accused through CCTV footage as Swati Bhanoriya, native of Boda in Rajgarh district who belong to Sansi Gang of thieves. Police learnt that the accused stayed at their Dera in Narsinghgarh. Combine team of Jabalpur and Rajgarh police raided the identified spot but accused managed to escape from the spot. In the search of her place, police have retrieved the stolen bag with cash of Rs 10 lakh. ASP, Priyanka Shukla added that police are conducting a rigorous search for the accused and her accomplices.
