Sympathising with farmers, who have suffered crop losses due to unseasonal rains, and also to reassure them that State Government is firmly committed to bailing them out of crisis, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited farms in Nagpur District and took stock of the crop damage. Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde and Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Anil Patil were also present during the visit. The MahaYuti Ministers with Chief Minister visited Tarsa and Nimkheda villages in Ramtek tehsil on the first day of winter session. The region was hit by heavy rains from November 26 to 28 which resulted in damage caused to standing crops in the farms. Even as Opposition has adopted an aggressive stance on the issue during the winter session of State Legislature, the Ruling combination decided to personally visit the farms and inspect the damage. The attempt was to showcase the sensitivity of Government with farmers.
Shinde, Fadnavis, Munde and Patil inspected the damage caused to paddy cropsin Ramtek tehsil and therural
areas of Nagpur district.
The six tehsils namely Mauda,
Parsheoni,Ramtek,Kamptee, Saoner
and Hingna, were the worst hit as the
untimely rains damaged the standing
crops of paddy, cotton and pulses
(Tur). The damage is estimated to
be spread over an area of about 5,048
Hectares.The Chief Minister inspected
the damage today with his fellow
ministers.
Krupal Tumane, Member of
Parliament, Ramtek Lok Sabha
Constituency, MLA Ashish Jaiswal,
Tekchand Sawarkar, MLA, along with
senior official were also present during
the visit of Chief Minister.
Chief Minister discussed with the
farmers the present status of the
crops and also got feedback of the
extent of damages suffered by them.
He instructed accompanying officials
to complete panchnama immediately
and submit report to State
Government.
About 335 villages in 13 tehsils of
district have been affected due to
unseasonal rain. About 6886 farmers
having holding of 2, 880 Ha have
suffered damages. So far 52 per cent
panchanama has been completed.

Divisional Superintendent
Agriculture Officer Milind Shende,
District Superintendent Agriculture
Officer Ravindra Manohare, officials
and employees of Revenue,
Marketing and other departments
were present.
