In a spine-chilling incident, a doctor, his brother and staff disposed of a patient’s body overnight after he died due to wrong injection in Chhindwara. The accused doctors with the help of his brother and staff took the body from the clinic in a car. After travelling 250 kilometers, the body was thrown in the canal of Bargi Dam. The shocking incident took place in Amarwara on the intervening night of December 2 and 3. Body of an elderly patient was found in Gokalpur canal in Jabalpur on December 4. On the complaint of the family, police investigated and the doctor’s misdeeds came to light. Police have arrested the doctor, his brother and staff. Amarwara Police Station In-charge Rajendra Dhurve said that the accused Deepak Srivastava is a BAMS (Ayurvedic) doctor. Initial information revealed that he was giving allopathic treatment. The elderly man was having trouble in breathing.
 
Pusu Rathore (60), a resident of Lahgadua, was having trouble in breathing. He went to Dr Deepak Srivastava’s clinic in ward 6 of Amarwara on the afternoon of December 2. Here the doctor gave him saline and injection. Pusu Rathore started getting nervous as soon as the injection was given. The doctor took him to the back room of the clinic and laid him down on the dressing table. After some time the old man died. The doctor did not inform about this to family members of the deceased. He kept waiting for night to fall. According to police, during interrogation it was revealed that Dr Deepak Srivastava disposed the body with the help of his brother Devendra Srivastava, staff member Pradeep Daheria and Kapil Malvi.
 
The accused kept the body in the back seat of the car (MP 09 CE 5659) and threw it in the canal going from Nigri to Gokalpur near Bargi. Pusu Rathore had left the house saying that he was going to the clinic. When he did not return, the family went to the clinic. Then a missing complaint was lodged in the police station. Police remained busy during counting of Assembly elections on December 3. Here, the family continued searching for Pusu. On December 4, information was received that a body was found in the canal. After this the family created ruckus in Amarwara police station. They demanded to interrogate the doctor. During interrogation, the doctor and staff confessed to throwing the body in the canal after giving wrong injection to the elderly patient.
