“Prerna College of Commerce that has been renamed as Dr S C Gulhane Prerna College of Commerce, Science and Arts, has set an example for other colleges by becoming multidomain college from single domain one which is the need of time and demand of the New Education Policy” observed Dr Subhash Choudhari, Vice-Chancellor, RTM Nagpur University, while speaking at the renaming ceremony of Prerna College of Commerce held in the college.

As the chief guest of the function, Dr Choudhari added that having a multidomain college allows the students to study the subjects of their choice.

Earlier Dr Pravin Joshi, Director, Prerna College of Commerce, made introductory remarks and spoke about the hard work and dedication of Dr S C Gulhane, Secretary, Prerna Sewa Mandal, in bringing up the institutions run by Prerna Sewa Mandal, an organisation that was established by him in 1983.

On the occasion Dr S C Gulhane was felicitated at the hands of Dr Subhash Choudhari. The better half of Dr S C Gulhane, Shobha Gulhane was also felicitated. Dr Urmila Dabir the guest of honour admired the efforts of the college to raise its educational and infrastructural standard. The chairperson , Prof R C Gulhane, President, Prerna Sewa Mandal, promised full support to the heads of the institutions.

Neha Samundre, Assistant Professor, conducted the proceedings of the event while Principal Dr Prakash Durugkar proposed a vote of thanks. Prominently present were Abhilasha Gudadhe, CEO, Shweta Gulwade, Joint Secretary, Dr Ashok Paunikar, Member, Prerna Sewa Mandal, Dr G G Gulhane, Mr Chopkar, Dr Sanjay Kavishvar, Dr Ujwal Lanjewar, Dr Jaywant Wadate and others.
