Rakesh Singh submits proposal to select Jabalpur as New Green Field City

Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh, on Thursday met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi and submitted a proposal for selecting Jabalpur as New Green Field City.
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is to select New Green Field City in the country. Hence, Singh has submitted a proposal in this regard. In the proposal Singh said Jabalpur fulfills the criteria of Green Field City due to its specialties and richness of expected resources. In the proposal made for Jabalpur, it is informed that 332 hectares of land has been identified within municipal limits and the proposed site is located near Namami Narmada project, as well as there is plenty of electricity and water is available. It is further informed that the biggest ring road of Madhya Pradesh will pass from there and the proposed site is situated at a distance of 3 km from Gwarighat railway station and 14 km from Dumna airport besides being close to National Highway 30.
Jabalpur is an industrially rich area, there is immense potential for textile industry and there is abundant availability of skilled labor which is the most important resource for any industry. Jabalpur is an important city for meeting the needs of readymade garments in central India because there are already 257 units of readymade garments exist in which about 5,000 people are getting direct and indirect employment and if it is developed as a Green Field City then about 50,000 people will get employment and investors will also come to the city. In the proposal that Jabalpur is located almost in the midst of the country and in its 200 km radius, there are four national parks, including Kanha, Pench, Bandhavgarh and Mukundpur, as well as tourist places like Khajurao, Pachmarhi, Amarkantak, Chitrakoot and world famous waterfall Bhedaghat is also located.
