Around 1.20 lakh cases, including pre-litigation and cases related to municipal corporation, were disposed of in the National Lok Adalat organised by District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Raipur on Saturday.
According to the information received, the resolved cases included 92,233 cases in revenue court, 25,896 pre-litigations and cases related to municipal corporation, 8500 cases pending in court, cases related to public utility services, 63 cases of family court, 37 cases of labour court and others. Similarly, 168 cases were resolved in Mohalla Lok Adalat conducted for the first time in the history of Chhattisgarh.
Creating a history, 156 cases pending for the last five to 10 years were resolved in the Lok Adalat while five cases of more than 10-year-old were also disposed of. Moreover, the cases involving amounts to the tune of over Rs 5 crore were also settled during the Lok Adalat. Chairman of DLSA Raipur/District and Sessions Judge Santosh Sharma inaugurated the National Lok Adalat in the presence of judges, advocates, parties, officials from banks, revenue department, municipal corporation and others. Like earlier, the Lok Adalat this time was hosted in hybrid mode to protect the interest of people and ensured disposal of cases through mutual understanding.
On the occasion, a free health check-up camp was also organised. Moreover, the authority’s Chairman Sharma inaugurated a tea stall providing employment opportunities to differently-abled people.
