Selja reviews preparations for plenary session

The first meeting of Reception Committee for 85th Plenary Session of Indian National Congress was held in presence of All India Congress Committee (AICC) for Chhattisgarh General Secretary Kumari Selja, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee President Mohan Markam at State Congress party office Rajiv Bhawan in State Capital on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, AICC General Secretary for Chhattisgarh Kumari Selja said that the meeting of the Steering Committee of the AICC was held, in which discussions were held regarding the 85th plenary session. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has taken up the challenge to host the plenary session in Chhattisgarh. Not only the Congress the whole country is eagerly waiting for the plenary session going to be held in Chhattisgarh, she added. Selja has urged all the Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, former MLAs, District Congress Committees Presidents and other Congress leaders of State to make the plenary session successful by imparting their responsibilities honestly. The 85th plenary session of the Indian National Congress will be held under the chairmanship of Mallikarjun Kharge in Raipur from February 24 to 25.
The second meeting of Steering Committee of the AICC will be held on February 24. Office-bearers of the AICC and the PCC will participate in the plenary session on February 25. A grand public meeting will be held on February 26, said the AICC General Secretary. Selja claimed that the Congress party would again form its government in State. The BJP is eyeing on the Congress government in Chhattisgarh. The BJP government at the Centre is targeting the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and the officers of Chhattisgarh government.
The Congress leaders have to do their work with firmness. The AICC General Secretary urged the party leaders not to be afraid of any challenge no matter what the challenge is. CPCC President Mohan Markam gave the welcome address and said that it is a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh that the 85th plenary session of the Indian National Congress is being held in the state. Over 10,000 Congress leaders including the office-bearers of AICC and PCC delegates from all states of the country would participate in the plenary session, Markam added. In his address, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that plenary session would have to be made memorable and for it, all the party leaders have to work unitedly. AICC Secretaries for Chhattisgarh Dr Chandan Yadav, Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, Advisor to Congress National President Safal, Incharge Secretary Vamshi Chand Reddy, Joint Secretary Jangid, Cabinet Ministers Tamradhwaj Sahu, Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, Ravindra Choubey, Mohammad Akbar, Dr Shivkumar Dahariya, Jaisingh Agrawal, Guru Rudra Kumar, Rajya Sabha Member Ranjeet Ranjan, Treasurer Ramgopal Agrawal, CPCC In-charge General Secretary (Organisation) Amarjeet Chawla, State Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Girish Dewangan, State Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla, Rajendra Tiwari, Gurumukh Singh Hora, Vinod Verma, Ruchir Garg, Satyanarayan Sharma, Vikas Upadhyay, Kuldeep Juneja and other leaders attended the meeting.
