Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that in the tenure of Chief Minister Chouhan, the work of development has started. Vindhya is such a region which has brought glory to the whole country. It is my duty to give an airport to Vindhya. My father gifted railways to Rewa. I have got the privilege of giving an airport to Rewa. Where earlier there was a demand for railways, now there is a demand for air service. 74 airports were built in more than 60 years of independence. During the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi 74 airports have been built in 9 years. MPs and MLAs along with the Chief Minister continued to put in efforts for the construction of the airport in Rewa. Hence, it was my responsibility to contribute towards Vindhya region’s development. An airport was being built in Rewa for the first 20 seater aircraft. Looking at the future, I approved the construction of an airport for landing a 72-seater aircraft. Construction work worth Rs 300 crore will start here soon. People with low income will also get the opportunity to travel by air from Rewa airport. So far one crore 15 lakh people have travelled by air by paying only Rs 25 under PM Modi’s Udaan Scheme.
The Union Minister said that today is a historic day for Vindhya. Vindhya did not show any desire for development till 2003 but now Vindhya is developing rapidly. The entire Vindhya region has changed quickly. Our resolute Chief Minister Chouhan has given the gift of prosperity to the farmers of Vindhya by completing the work of Bansagar Dam. Chouhan has done the work of giving Rs 10,000 by adding Rs 4,000 in Rs 6,000 given under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. The Union Minister said that women empowerment is the need of the hour. The Chief Minister has made this a reality. It will get more momentum from Ladli Laxmi Yojana and Ladli Behna Yojana. Our government intends to develop Vindhya and our aim is public welfare. He appreciated the efforts made by MLA Rewa Rajendra Shukla for the development of the region.
Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam said that the 15-month-old government would crib about an empty treasury. Ever since the present government came, development works are being undertaken all around and there is no dearth of funds for any kind of work. Works worth Rs 309 crore in Devtalab assembly constituency and Rs 250 crore works have been gifted along with airport construction. MP Janardan Mishra gave his address in Bagheli. He said that Union Minister has given a new gift to Rewa which will give a new dimension to development of Rewa. MLA and former minister Rajendra Shukla said for Vindhya, this day is memorable.
