Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for the Anubhuti Inclusive Park at Suryanagar in Pardi, on Monday. The world's largest and unique Divyang Park will be developed by Nagpur Improvement Trust. The garden would have state-of-the-art instruments and facilities commensurate with the needs of Divyangs. Speaking at the programme, Gadkari said, the park is being developed keeping in mind the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build an inclusive society. Instead of sympathy, this park will show empathy, and has been aptly named Anubhuti Divyang Park. The park will spread a message of inclusion not only in the country but also in the world.
The Union Minister also said, the park will have adapted facilities for all 21 types of disabilities. It will have facilities like touch and smell garden, hydrotherapy unit, water therapy, independent room for differently abled children, mother.
Nagpur city is one of the fastest growing cities of the country. In 2016, the Central Government enacted the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act for the rights of persons with disabilities. The Central Government has developed Divyang Parks in South India and Madhya Pradesh. Under this mission, the Anubhuti Inclusive Park is being developed in city, he added.
The Union Minister also said, this is the world’s first inclusive disabled park, a provision of about Rs 12 crore has been made by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The park is coming up in an area of 90,000 sq.ft. Various projects have been conceptualised for the disabled as well as for the general public and senior citizens.
