QIDWAI Football Club and IFFC Chankapur recorded facile wins in their Super and Senior Division matches respectively of the JSW Football Tournament under way at Suyog Nagar ground on Monday. In the Super Division match, Qidwai blanked Al Fateh 2-0 while IFFC Chankapur also recorded and identical win over Gauhar Football Club later in the day.
For Qidwai, both the goals were scored by Rahul Mundri. The striker scored his first in first half in the 30th minute and added one more in the dying minutes of play (90th min) handing the team a comfortable victory. The match witnessed foul play committed by a score of players. Qidwai’s Aman Halonde (10th), Altamash Ansari (53rd), Amir Anjum (80th), Rananjay Banik (90+4min) and Al Fateh’s Mark Gadve (48th), Piyush Mishra (80th) and Kafeel Ansari (90+2) were flashed with the yellow cards.
In second match of the day that was a Senior Division fixture, IFFC Chankapur blanked Gauhar 2-0 courtesy Abhimanyu Menon’s twin strikes. The player scored one each on either side of the lemon break. His first goal came in the 23rd minute while he found the target once again in 72nd minute of play. In this match also, as many as five players were cautioned. Rushikesh Bhadange (21st), Varun Jadhav (35th) and Priyanshu Sharma (43rd) were the culprits for Chankapur while for Gauhar, Shadab Sheikh (65th) and Aman Ansari (79th) received the warning.
